Hey there! I'm Kristen and so glad you stumbled upon my site. Whether it was accidental or completely intentional, these things happen for a reason, so welcome.

I'm a seasoned fast-pitch softball athlete by experience, performance psychology specialist and your go-to professional for turning challenges into triumphs.

Picture this: A ten-year-old team captain with a softball in hand, destined for a life on the diamond. But, just when everything seemed like a home run, I found myself in a bizarre plot twist. Out of nowhere, I could no longer throw, hit, or catch routine plays that I would otherwise automatically execute without a thought. This was not only confusing, but soul crushing because I was putting endless time, dedication, and effort into perfecting my art from a physical perspective. 

Desperate to seek answers, my coach's advice was a resounding "try harder and focus more." Helpful, right?

 

After a long, emotional, trying road I finally got out of this "rut" and was somehow able to resume play at my expected level. I continued on my softball odyssey, only for a déjà vu performance glitch to strike with vengeance as my freshman year beckoned. This time, no stone was left unturned, after-all, it couldn't be from lack of training... I was physically practicing for hours - every. single. day.  Enter sport psychology—the game-changer that rewrote my playbook, not just for softball but for my entire professional journey. I might have been practicing the physical part of the game, but was severely neglecting what was arguably the most important component of peak performance... the mind.

Fast forward to setting home run and fielding records, and earning a spot as a collegiate softball player. My love for performance psychology was no fleeting affair; it became a passion that led me to Knoxville to earn my master's in Kinesiology, Sport and Performance Psychology, from the University of Tennessee.

Post-grad school, I made it my mission to share the mental game's magic, applying performance psychology and resilience strategies to the real MVPs—The United States active Military and Veterans. Whether on the field, in the classroom, during transitions, or within their own businesses, I've had the privilege of empowering these heroes to elevate their performances.

Time after time I witness top performers succumb to game-changing performance ruts that lead to self-doubt, shaking confidence, and sometimes even burn out, all because they are missing that key piece of the training routine - their mental approach. How could we expect to consistently perform at our peak when we're not training the most crucial muscle?

After discovering this performance hack, I am determined to help others reach their peak by overcoming those invisible enemies that can become very visible and disruptive.
